I have never seen a cactus in bloom in real life before. Must really be pretty. The picture sure is.

We've had this cactus for 4 years, only this year it bloomed for us and really shocked us :D

Maybe they only bloom every so many years? I know out in the desert I was told the cactus and other desert flowers only bloom in the spring when they have the spring rains. Then everything dries up.

I wish mine would bloom but it never has....yours is loaded with flowers.

This is a prickly pear cactus. You have one of the nice greenish-yellow colored flowers. They come in gold, orangish and a clear true yellow, too. Generally, they bloom any year with 6 inches of rain in any given season, preferably winter-spring.
